Immune Boosting Shots

With COVID continuing to spread like wildfire, we couldn’t think of a better time to create some immune boosting shots. They’re super simple to make and feature a bunch of low FODMAP ingredients so will be nice to your tummy and healing for the body.

To help keep our immune systems strong and help us recover quickly, we’ve included an abundance of healthy, nutrient-rich ingredients such as:

  • Citrus fruits (orange, lemon, lime), which are key to fighting infections (rich in Vitamin C)
  • Ginger, which can help lower the risk of infections and decrease inflammation (rich in nutrients and bioactive compounds)
  • Apple cider vinegar, which has antimicrobial and antioxidant effects (rich in acetic and amino acids)
  • Cinnamon, which can help lower risk of disease (rich in polyphenols, a type of antioxidant)
  • Spinach, which increases the infection-fighting ability of our immune systems (rich in antioxidants and beta carotene)
  • Green tea, which enhances immune function (rich in flavonoids, a type of antioxidant)

Disclaimer: it’s important to note that no supplement or diet (including these recipes) will cure or prevent disease.

  • 1 tsp ginger, minced

  1. Prepare ingredients as suggested e.g. juice lemon/lime, prepare green tea, mince ginger.

  3. Pour into small shot glasses (no need to strain as our body wants that fibre rich pulp) and down that bad boy!
