Our Protein Bars are the only ones in the world that have been certified as low FODMAP by Monash University. FODMAPs are types of carbohydrates that commonly trigger bloating and gut issues. Many ingredients found in protein bars are high FODMAP, including dates, inulin, chicory root, or sugar alcohols.
In addition to being low FODMAP, we leave out all the unnecessary junk that can wreak havoc on your gut, including artificial sweeteners, preservatives and emulsifiers. Basically, any “number” ingredients.
Are Fodbods Protein Bars suitable for IBS?
Absolutely! In fact, Fodbods Protein Bars are probably the ONLY ones that are suitable for IBS!
Our protein bars have been independently tested and certified as low FODMAP. This is a group of carbohydrates that commonly cause gut issues (tummy aches, bloating, etc.).
In addition to being low FODMAP, our bars are free from other ingredients that can exacerbate IBS symptoms – eg. artificial sweeteners, preservatives, emulsifiers.
How many Fodbods Protein Bars can I eat a day?
Fodbods are pretty addictive and it’s hard to stop at one. How many you can eat per day is different for everyone.
Our protein bars are intended as a high protein snack to supplement a balanced diet.
From a FODMAP perspective, the recommended serving size is one bar per sitting. FODMAP sensitivity is highly individual so the only way to know is by testing. It’s also influenced by other factors such as what else you’ve eaten that day (FODMAPs stack), stress, hormones, etc.
